Le Goh Velin - Your campsite on the Rhuys peninsula

Discovering the Rhuys peninsula

Discover the Presqu’île de Rhuysthe long arm of the Morbihan Gulf at the end of which Port Navalo tirelessly counts the tides. During your vacation with friends or family at Le Goh Velin, your campsite in Morbihan, take a walk to the Petit Mont to see the Cairn and enjoy a beautiful view of the ocean and the gulf from its height of over 36 metres.
The Cairn du Petit Mont features megalithic architecture over 6,000 years old. The slabs of this monument feature engravings characteristic of the Neolithic period. The Cairn was built in several stages, and includes several corridor tombs.
On the Rhuys peninsula, a fifteen-minute drive from the campsite, you can also visit the Château de Suscinio, former residence of the Dukes of Brittany in Sarzeau. Built in the late Middle Ages, it is one of the symbols of Morbihan and its history. On the grounds of this lovely château, you can admire the birdlife and flora of the Suscinio marshes.

Morbihan and its gastronomy

Finally, during your stay in Morbihan, just a stone’s throw from the campsite, enjoy local gastronomy and specialities. Many Breton towns have their own specialities, but the andouille from Guéméné sur Scorff remains the benchmark. It is smoked, dried and then cooked in a broth for 3 to 4 hours.

You can also sample the Tome de Rhuys cheese speciality, produced in Sarzeau at the Ferme fromagère de Suscinio since the early 2000s.
In terms of sweets, don’t hesitate to try the Gateau Breton (made with semi-salted butter and shortcrust pastry), Niniches de Quiberon (fruit or caramel lollipops) and Salidou, a salted butter caramel cream.
