Horseback riding

In the commune of Saint Gildas de Rhuys, less than a kilometre less than a kilometer on foot from your seaside campsite in Brittany, you’ll find the Highlands equestrian tourism center, where Brigitte and Alain will be delighted to welcome you. Pony-riding for the little ones, horse-riding for the older ones, or even carriage-riding. Enjoy the setting and nature for a stroll or a ride.

Hiking in Saint Gildas de Rhuys

There are plenty of walks and hikes to be had on the Rhuys peninsula, which abounds in picturesque and picturesque viewpoints.. But just 300 m from your campsite by the sea in Brittany, you’ll find the famous GR34, created in 1791 to keep an eye on the coastline and enable customs officers to criss-cross the coastline from their guardrooms to prevent smuggling.

Friendly hikes await you in Saint Gildas in Saint Gildas and on the Presqu’île de Rhuys.
Le Grand Mont: a 9 km loop can be undertaken from your campsite by the sea in Brittany in around 2h15. You’ll see the abbey church of Saint Gildas, the Menhir de la Pierre Jaune, the Port aux Moines, the Dolmen de Men Maria, Port Maria, a natural harbor, and the Grand Mont orientation table.

Some walks on the Presqu'île

The Pointe du Golfe offers the opportunity to to go hiking. One of them is 15km long and takes around 4 hours to complete: the harbor of Port Navalo, then the Pointe de Bilgroix and the Dolmen, the Pointe de Pembert with its panoramic view of the Gulf, the Er Lannic cromlech and the Gavrinis tumulus, the coastal path, views of the Brannec and Govihan islands, the Pen Castel mill and the Chapelle Saint-Nicolas.

Nature trails

In Sarzeau, the 7 km “Rando de la Pointe de l’Ours”, to be completed in around 3 hours. Departure from the Brignac Town Hall annexe parking lot. This hike allows you to discover the church with its bell tower and a colony of “Grand Rhinolophe” bats, the old mill, Prat Bihan, the Piniel fishponds and the coastal paths. beautiful images.

A Hiking in the Saint Armel salt marshes begins at the parking lot leading to Île Tascon, linked to the mainland by a causeway uncovered two hours before and after low tide. Discover the coastal path, the town of Saint Armel, the Presqu’île du Passage, and the ancient salt marshes of Lasné.

THE PENINSULA BY BIKE

A 73 km cycling network serves the Presqu’île de Rhuys on an east-west axis from Saint Armel to Arzon, with access to St-Gildas de Rhuys, St Jacques and Tourau-Parc.
Guided walks of around 2h30 are organized by Gwen Malléjac to discover the charms of the Gulf and its salt marshes (landscapes, flora and fauna). Price: €21 (bike provided).

Île aux Moines, the largest island in the Gulf, can be visited by bike. Bikes can be rented on site. For Saint Gildas de Rhuys, there’s a bike rental shop in the town: MADEO, 18 Rue des Vénètes. Tel: 06.23.07.60.29.
